Body FengShui By Kaaren Henderson

SDNari would like to announce a talk on "Body FengShui" by Kaaren Henderson.
Where: La Jolla Library - 7555 Draper Ave, CA 92037. There are several parking spots on Draper Avenue as well as around it.

When - Saturday, August 28th, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.
Fees - There are none required. Renewals of annual memberships of $20 encouraged.

Body Feng Shui is an incredible, in-depth system that gives a new understanding of human temperament. It answers the question: "Why do I do the things I do, the way that I do them?" It is based on the way that our muscles attach to our bones and how that attachment determines how we move. We each have a defining shape.

Martha Graham, the founder of modern dance once famously said, "As we move, so do we think and behave."
We are each energetic beings and clothing has an energetic frequency. When the clothing we wear is in harmony with who we are at the deepest level, a synergy is created. That synergy lifts us to a new level of being and a new level of beauty. Those are the gifts of Body Feng Shui.
More Info @ www.bodyfengshui.com
If you want to know what colors and styles of clothing suit you, don't miss this.

Walk-ins are welcome however, if possible, do RSVP by replying to this email. You are welcome to forward this email to other friends. Click here to read more...

‘Arranged Marriage – its role and relevance today’

Date: November 15, 2009 (Sunday) from 3PM to 5 PM
Venue: 7555 Draper Ave
La Jolla, CA 92037-4802

Moderator: Vinod Kumar
(Documentary Film Maker, San Diego, CA)

How did you choose your life partner? Did someone else choose him or her for you? Did family or friends play a major role in the choice? If you had the opportunity do it all over again would you do it any differently this time? Why and how?

Documentary filmmaker Vinod Kumar welcomes your feedback for an upcoming film examining the role and relevance of arranged marriage in contemporary times. The idea is to bring out, through narration of your own experiences in your own words, the good, the bad, the ugly, or the pros and cons, of the current ways in which parents, family, friends or members of the community may try to introduce two people who might make a good match.

You may have strong opinions on the subject and may want to use this forum as a sounding board. But please keep in mind that the idea of the film is to foster discussion by drawing on real experiences rather than serve as a forum to propagate for or against arranged marriage.

We request you to restrict relating your experience or opinion to no more than three to five minutes so that a maximum number of people can share their thoughts. This event may be videotaped, parts of which may be used for the documentary Vinod Kumar is making on this subject. If you do not consent to being a part of the documentary film, be sure to indicate that on the sign-in sheet.

If you think you have a personal experience/opinion that you may want to share or if you would like to join the crew in any capacity for the filming of this documentary, please send a brief note to vinod@vinodfilms.com.

You can learn more about Vinod Kumar at www.vinodfilms.com.

SDNari June Event - Healthy Bones / Healthy Cars - June 27, 3 - 5.30 PM- Lajolla Public Library.

We will have two speakers this month talking on two entirely different topics.
We welcome Miriam Jirari to speak about Healthy Bones and Osteoperosis.
"Miriam Jirari is dedicated to guiding those in need toward a healthier existence through balanced nutrition and exercise. Miriam received her Bachelors degree in Liberals Studies with an emphasis in Child and Family Development. After being in the teaching field she realized her true passion was in the sciences. She graduated from Loma Linda University with her Masters degree in Public Health. Miriam then earned a Registered Dietitian license. She has worked in hospitals as a clinical dietitian, Eating Disorder Clinics as a counselor, WIC centers, and Northrop Grumman as a corporate wellness program coordinator. Her current position is at Northrop Grumman and Alvarado Hospital. She also teaches Jazz/Lyrical dance to teens and adults. Miriam would like to thank you all for your valuable time in learning the medicinal qualities of food and activity."

We also welcome Stacie Macfadyen to speak about Healthy Cars and its proactive maintenance.
Stacie says the following about herself - "I like cars. I grew up in a family that liked old cars and having old cars meant maintaining them so I learned how to do basic repairs. My first car was a 1967 MGB and my second car was a 1966 convertible Mustang. Everywhere I went, I left behind a puddle or a part. At the time, I was a poor student and did many of my own repairs. Since then I have befriended a wonderful mechanic who indulges my questions and provides regular service on my newer car. My intent in talking to the group is to educate and share things I've learned over the years that will maintain a "healthy" car."
